Step Down Power supply from 220V to 120V

Hi, I am looking to have some rewiring done in my house and want to know if it is possible to have a permanent step down light system in my kitchen. I have some wonderful lights from when I lived in the US and would like to have them fitted here in the UK, Is it possible and what would be needed?
