i concur.

however some one mentioned once or i read that you can use 240v tools if you use an tested RCD device on the socket.

Perhaps someone could confirm or otherwise.

Up to 32A and all portable equipment 110v selv or pelv, fixed equipment in some instances above 32A but even then with rcd protection no greater than 500ma and a very long method statement

As asked already why

240V tools are now allowed on site with adequate RCD protection, alongside 110.

However, it is down to the individual site as to whether they will allow it or not.
