Anyone got any experiance with stone slate roof, im curious to know how you hold the slate back up once removed to install a hook - lead tingles are not strong enough - what do most do about fixing the slate back?

Ok - im sure i will be able to get something to do the job - just hoping someone on here has actually done a stone slate/flag roof. Im sure some types stone roofs the slates/flags "hook" over the baton.

Have you considered, dare i say it, hanger bolts on the stone flags? Their thickness and strength may be better suited to that method... Just a thought...

Its not that thick, so its crossed my mind, but ive already pick hooks up today, just going to go to site tomorrow and learn the hard like usual.

if its a concrete tile then you simply slide the tile up find your rafter feeling the felt . you use a stainless steel hanger that screws into rafter and the tile slides back down over it.
