Hi,

I have an electrical stove with solid plates, all plates are with the big red dot in the middle. The stove is about 20 years old. Now I have changed all the plates, but it is still super slow. It does not heat up in 30 minutes, so it is not really usable.

Do you have any ideas why it is so slow? it is running off a single phase 220V 50Hz supply(standard in South Africa).

Unlikely that all new plates are defective have you tested your switchs for the plates, old plates may well be ok so dont throw them away until you have sorted the problem.

Just a question, but how can the swithc be a problem if the plate is actually turning on? It is just that it is very slow, what could be the problem with the switches?

I take it your switchs are the variable type so that you can control the heat of the plate if they are not working correctly and putting up more resistance than they should your plates will take an awful lot longer to heat up. Apart from the plates and switchs all you are really left with is the wiring and the connections from wiring to plates switchs etc.
