Hi guys

Trying to diagnose a street light, a Thorn Beta 5 with 35W SOX lamp. Replaced the lamp and the fuse, went to turn it on and it came on for a couple of seconds trying to light up than blew the fuse.
Does anyone know if this is the ignitor or Ballast doing this? Just want to get the right part before I go all the way up there. Also where would one find these parts :icon10:

Thanks

Simon

we tended to replace both as matter of course If ballast has gone then the ignitor is trying to ignite thus shortening its life if its the ignitor thats gone then it has possibly put strain on ballast with same effect As for mounting gear in base this can cause problems with lenmgth of cable to lampholder and chaffing in coloum the chances of needing to replace it often enough outweigh the possible advantage of base mounting gear Forby the space in base door isnt the greatest

BUT depending on client due to greeness of SOX stuff you could try n persuade them to go the Halide route or led route
