Structural Surveys

We've been offering a structural survey to all of our customers but are finding that whichever surveyor we use it's becoming a bit of a pain with loads of extra roofing kit and some reinforcing being recommended to make sure the roof structure is sound enough to take the panels taking into account wind and snow loads.

Has anyone got an idiots guide to popular roof types that are ok for panels so I can use that for bog standard jobs and just bring the structural guys in for more unusual jobs?
