Hello

I am looking to leave the forces in the next couple of years and I have started a traing course with train4jobs, this should give me my city and guilds l2 and 3 and the am2 exam. I joined this forum just for any advice or tips that anyone has to offer on becoming an electrician.

Thanks

Dan

along with that core qualification, try and get practical experience, build up a portfolio of work to get nvq3. sure someone else will be on soon with more detailed advice.

Do the training Dan and stay attached to the forum going over old threads for information. Read as much as you can and watch videos on you tube and sign up to the learning lounge. When you leave the forces use the saved up money you have to gain work as an electricians mate for 2 or three years getting as much experience as possible. The training you initially did and the reading will then start making sense. It's all about experience of practical and a lot about the theory married into a beautiful relationship called "Sparking".
Welcome to the forum

It's an NIC-EIC thing. If you go onto their website it should be in the content somewhere. It may cost. There are titbits on you tube so search learning lounge and take a look. Some is old but not so old that Tony Cable isn't podgy!

Welcome dude:)
If you are mounted cavalry...get trained for equine Raki healing...4 DB swap wonga,in a day,and you just need a car and warm hands ;)

...Don't worry,better advice will follow...
