How does an earth leakage clamp meter differ from a clamp meter (if at all).

Both tend to test IVR so are we just talking sensitivity, resolution and range? When does one become the other (if at all).

a "normal" clamp meter measures amps, a good one will have a range from 20A to 100A, but with a resolution of 0.1A at best. obviously no good for measuring leakage current in the order of mA.
earth leakage camp meters have a much higher resolution but lower range, typically <20A max.. cheap ones 1mA, expensive ones down to microamps.

More or less what I thought then, clears they up nicely ?

yep. think you got it right in OP. my main concern about leakage atm is i got 44 bottles of beer conditioning. don't want any leaks. and i still got that MFT lead if you want it.

44 bottles of beer in garage, 44 bottles of beer, you take one out, chug it and shout "wotcha lookin at", 43 bottles of beer in the garage...

Can't say I do, Blue Cap, Riverside and White Barn are the only ones I can remember by you ? mainly due to spending at least 1 evening at any given one of them whenever I was on warden duty at Forest Camp ?

Complete guess, but it's probably cheaper to let a separate meter read a CT clamp and send the data to the charger's microcontroller using rs485...
