hi everyone, can some please let me know if what I have done is ok, and how to plan next stage.

I have added a 13amp fused unit to the ring main in my utility room and run 2.5mm rubber cable above head height (about 7ft high) to my summer house, where I have added a rcd fused spur, from this I have added 3 double sockets, the length of the run from the house to the summer house is 15 meters, is this all ok.

the next question is can I run decking lights from this if I add another fused unit

thanks for any help

Yeah I done it myself, after reading books etc
but still can't work out or find out how to stop the rcd tripping on the main board, was hoping it would just trip the rcd fused spur ( I no it does this because I brought a plug in tester from eBay and not due to a fault) :)

The RCD in the main board will always trip before the one downstream of it!

Why is the RCD tripping?

If you have 2 RCD's in series its pot luck which one trips first!

:frown2: Can you start this thread again tommorrow after 6?

Could I add an earth cable to the rcd fused spur to ground, using an earthing rod, or would it be better to get an rcd mcb fitted to the main board ???

The cable is supported using black cable clips that I got from b&q the ones that clip around the cable and you screw.
i have attached the cable to the shed and run it along the top, there is about 4ft that's not supported that's between the house and shed

That will work fine as long as the Pirs use relay switching, some don't.
