Just received from a potential customer who is playing us off against another company whose advertising says this. I'm not keen on competing in the race to the bottom.

If the customer is only focused on price we always walk away. When you do a quality job and take proper care and do it for that price they want more! The above advertiser will probably block incoming calls from the customer the moment the final bill is paid.

We do the same. I tell potential customers we will never be the cheapest. If that is what they want, go elsewhere. I have even offered to tell a customer exactly how much I make from a job. If they don't think I'm worth it go elsewhere.

I only fit equipment I would be happy to fit to my own home. I tell customers that. People buy people, not prices.

Stand fast. Please don't get involved in a race to the bottom. There is little way back. Everything becomes devalued. Very few people drive Ladas, make sure customers know you don't sell them.

We're the same - our opening gambit is almost always we're not the cheapest and we win most of our jobs BUT we're not doing massive amounts cos we're tied up in the EV fiasco.
