Evening fellas

Ive been installing Sunhouse Creda manual night storage heaters in a care home, I've got a 1.7kw one which keeps switching off, I have been told there is a thermal cut out somewhere but I can't find it, I also can't understand why it's overheating.
Does anybody on here know where the cut out is?, there is a hinged metal Sheild which covers the workings of the input/output dial, I can't find anything obvious there

Cheers

is this the stat thats in it?

Not sure of that actual make mate, but some heaters like this one have a stat at the very bottom of the heater as well very close to where the elements connect to the porcelin connectors, if it is faulty it may be one reason it keeps cutting out, however the link marc showed if the main part which can go faulty, just thought I'g throw another option in for you chum.

I have limited time with these fellas, wouldn't know how to reset the stat, whilst trying to diagnose the fault on Xmas eve I noticed there was no "click" on the stat, had 230 supply voltage , 230 at the common of the stat but nothing on the porcelain connectors,
I switched it off, had a fiddle with the stat powered it back up and got 230 on the porcelain, there were no loose connections and I didn't think pressed any type of switch.
Cheers guys

the lip behind the the 2 blue markings on the picture, push that down to reset. if after doing that you have your 230 at the element etc but is cutting out during "off peak" times i would be replacing that stat.
I have noticed recently once they have been reset once they seem more prone to going!

fautly stat and/or restricted airflow are the main reasons they switch off prematurely, why do you suspect that its switching off?.... check all elements are given similar ohm resistance but remember to disconnect the elements first as they are in parallel with each other and a O/C element wont show if still connected up.
Also remember the Stat is regulating the initial heat stored in the bricks and may pull in and out to maintain the brick temp' until the off peak supply is lost, the thermal cutout will operate when too much heat occurs and will be a one time operations that need manual reset if not replacement of thermal fuse in some cases, again restricted airflow is a major cause of the thermal cutout operating like already mentioned - clothes etc been dried over them.

You should keep the input and output reasonable close. If they are only having an output of say 1/2 that's what will keep causing it to over heat. So drop the input down to say 4? Older storage heater so have had experience on, the thermal cut out is near the dials. You might have to take the front off, but tbh I can't quite remember how I got to it
