Is this available over here yet? Anyone installed if it is? How much? Any use?

Sun city near us had a 15hr power cut a couple of weeks ago and the 8 ish properties in the estate are having a fit because they lost power for 15 hrs. They are seriously considering battery backup including change of inverter if necessary. personally I think it's madness for the sake of an odd power cut now and then but it's as much a convenience thing for them and the money isn't necessarily a problem.

Any thoughts .....

I'm looking into something similar for a customer who wants to use generated power at night or when the grid fails. have come up with these as a good solution Homepage | the PowerRouter but they're 4 times the price of a nice SMA3600TL with all the batteries and isolators etc. That puts payback to 15-20 years depending on battery life...

It does allow you to use PV generation when the mains fail tho and seems a good option for areas with unreliable distribution but doesn't really work as a money saver... We started looking at them over a year ago but no takers so far, grid isn't bad enough...yet...

Anyone else used one?

Can't see the G83 cert for that power router, guess your not conecting to the UK grid withouth a G52 relay.

Sunny Backup is the only thing I know of that is going through a G83. The batteries for a setup will cost around 3.5k, averages ÂŁ600 a year in battery costs, only really breakeven under the FiT if you get 8 years out of the batteries
