hi
i am going to install a 3.75 kw system - the suntech stp250s comes in £300 cheaper than the hyundai s250mg (but i like the black) - both using SB 400TL inverter
Anyone know of any issues with panels and inverter

Running both panels through my software, I get the following results on the roof that I am currently designing:

15 Hyundai 250s on SB4000TL inverter: 2,931kWh
15 Suntech 250s on SB4000TL inverter: 3,177kWh

The Suntechs appear to be the better option if yield is the major concern. If aesthetics are the issue and you like the black panels then the Hyundai may be a good choice.

The inverter is a little oversized in my opinion. If the 4000TL is substituted for the Fronius IG TL 36 then a yield of 3,269kWh is expected. However, it may be the case that two MPPT trackers are desired due to shading or different orientations. If so, the Power One 3600 has two MPPT trackers and yields 3,218kWh

Although some installers don't appear to realise it, inverter choice doesn't start and end with Sunny Design.

Would be interested in knowing a bit more onthe software you used and the method/calculations you used to arrive at these figures as it would be a great bargaining tool when deciding on what panels/inverter to fit.

PVSol is a great piece of software. If you can use it to demonstrate a higher yield for a lower price, it gives you a very persuasive sales tool. As others have mentioned, there are many credible alternatives to Sharp and SMA!

I have a 3.84kWp of 16 Suntech STP240S-20Wd on a 4000TL. E/W split.

only had 2 months and 20% above SAP calcs at the moment.

20% above SAP? Did you get SAP figures for different months?

East/West system will generally perfrom worse in the winter than south facing installs.

A Figure of around 2800kWh per year.

I used a sap calc app. For the monthlies.

These sound low but sun is low in winter for east/west

December target was 47kWh. Achieved 62.4
January target is 64. Pro rata target 47.48 achieved 56.4

But with today's weather!!!
