Had a call and the following email from a friend in installing in the Weymouth area called out to a property today. We are a fair bit further to the West and have also had to repair a system done by this company (now bust).
So how do you get hold of an obsolete module from an obsolete manufacturer? Does anyone have one hidden away in a warehouse or know of a wholesaler that might have one?
'The installer was Microgen Southwest t/a HW Smith. The house location was Portland (one of the UK's most likely locations to be hit by severe weather) and the installation was done in April 2011. The company had issued a 2 year warranty.
The module was fitted to a rosemary tiled roof with 600mm BC trusses. The anchors (schuco tile anchors) were at 1200mm and a BP160s rail used. The rail extends approx 300mm past the last anchor.
The home owner said that during windy weather, she could hear something banging and this had been going on for some time, but she did not think it was a module. However since the module came off and landed in her garden, the banging noise has stopped.
Anyone got a Suntech STP190S-24/AD+ module.'
