it's a council flat and ive got what looks like a 10mm supply single core cables in conduit, now thats rated at 57 amps, the fuse protecting it is rated at 60 amps, now ive spoken to a council electrician and he thinks it might be ok because it may have complied with previous regulations is this true?
it was tested 2 years ago also there is only a 6amp and a 32amp mcb in the board could this be why the supply was not upgraded? or maybe 16mm cable was made to look smaller than it is today?
any help would be nice thanks.

As far as I'm aware, the only CCC that has ever changed due to a change in the Regulations, is for T&E.
It may be that the 10mm² is tri-rated cable (lots of very fine strands) in which case the CCC would be sufficient.
By rights, either the fuse should be changed for a lower rating, or the cable should be changed to one with a higher CCC.

i havn't actually looked at the main intake the council electrician has the key, but yes i think thats what he said it was, and i can't remember if it was 25 or 32 grrr i think it was 25mm also it is used as the earth.

nope it is not tri rated or micc, it is definatly a single core cable 100%, i think this is the lay out for 10 or so small flats surlely they can't all have passed tests if the cable is 10mm then? erm i no it sounds silly but has older 16mm cable ever looked smaller than 16mm cable today less or more insulation???

again if it has a 6amp and 32 amp mcb only, could this be anything to do with it??

43a KILN in a house ?? I recon that would be a NONO on the supply front and I wouldnt want to live in the same block as drawing 43a While Im having a shower may result in me getting a cold shower
as for the council Im sure they would wonder why you wanted a 43a Kiln in the house if not for buisness and doubt your tennancy would allow for buisness to run from the house
