Been asked to quote to run a supply in for an inflatable whirlpool. Installation is a domestic pme,no Bonding in place will have to sort that.
Whirlpool draw is 2080W 25metre run along the border of garden fence which will clip to. use a weatherproof IP65 double socket 2.5mm Swa 2 core feed from a 16A mcb in main cu.
Consumer unit is a GE cu Main switch is rcd switched protecting all circuits !6th edition

Would this be ok?

? Exporting the Earth

circuit sounds ok without doing vd calc, as for exporting its a divided opinion for many and varies on dno, to be sure ring and ask if they allow it then do the opposite to what the numptys say :)

Have been looking on the forum at " Exporting the earth" and one of the moderator Lenny quoted as saying this
A PME system can be exported provided that the either of the following 2 conditions are met

1. There are no extraneous conductive parts within the outbuilding i.e steel frame, water service, gas service etc.

2. If there are conductive parts, then the equipotential zone needs to be extended to the outbuilding via main equipotential bonding conductors sized accordingly i.e a minimum of 10mm2 for each service back to the MET within the house, unless the sub-main is greater than 10mm2 itself.

Personally if there are conductive parts within the outbuilding then I always TT regardless of sub-main size.

As this is not a building but a weatherproof socket shouldn't be a problem?:)

Hi ezzzekiel
Doing the maths

Ib=P/v 2080/230=9.04A

2.5mm Swa clipped direct 28A current carrying capacity
16A mcb as protective devise

VoltDrop for length of run using 2 core Swa
Vd=mVxIbxm/1000

18x9.04x25/1000=4.06v

Vd = 4.06v maximum permitted BS7671 is 5% or 11.5v for Power

According to Table 5 Equal Size Coductor Cable for Swa the armouring is adequate to use as a protective conductor

Anything I've missed Chaps feel free to add your comments

Thanks ezzzekiel
for being bothered to post replies, It sort of reassure you that there are people who are willing to correspond. and discuss the proper way of carrying out installations
