surge protection device for fire alarm.

Will be installing a fire alarm system shortly.The site is rural tncs overhead supply from nearby transformer.
After reading the osg and the green book,it appears,I need to fit a device at the intake position and another at the fire alarm panel position.Any advice of on the install would be welcome.

I always install a furse unit on all my installations. Never had a problem with them.

Most moden fire alarm panels have a spike suppressor on intake terminals and most have switch mode power supplies. So the should be no need for furthur suppression. Installed systems in some good old rual areas and never had any problems.
