Hi, has anyone fitted or can recommend a surge protection device for either side of the inverter? I've an install coming up on a property that is in a remote rural location, the customer has told me that he has had electrical equipment damaged twice in the last few years due to lightning. As it's a bungalow which is fairly sheltered I'm presuming the damage was from ground surges rather than direct strikes. I know most inverters incorporate surge protection but when you read the small print on the warranty this is not covered.

I look forward to your comments.

Cheers

Can you give details about the inverter? is it pure sine output? What earthing arrangement is at the premises? Does the inverter supply the whole premises or just certain items?

Hi, Marvo. The inverter will be a Sunny Boy SB3300 grid tied to the whole installation, the earthing at the property is TNCS.
