Just interested where I could buy a surge monitor/recorder. I am currently working on a school project in Nigeria (Africa) that require me to do surge analysis and I seriously need a device that can measure the level of surge(surge current, surge voltage, surge energy and surge duration) in our electrical power distribution system.Any help, advice and suggestions is appreciated. Thanks.

You just need to connect a power analyzer with data logging. They're not cheap and depending how long you need it for it might be a lot less expensive to hire one or even employ a company that does this type of monitoring to do the monitoring for a few days and obtain a set of results. In RSA a recognised brand name power analyzer will retail at around ZAR40K-60K (6000-8000USD).

Bloody Hell's Bell's, ...a ''Good'' and well known brand (Chauvin Arnoux, Fluke, Kewtech, Metrel etc) of power analyser can be had for under £3000!!! Sounds like you're being taken to the proverbial cleaners in SA... lol!!
