SWA gland?

Found this at work, looks like they'd run out of SWA glands...



I remember using them in the 70's, Henley glands? used for cable with a spiral metal sheath which I haven't seen for years, don't know if it's still used?.

The cable was armourflex. As far as I know no longer made.
Inventive way of glanding.

Glands still available and ive used them on occasion but agree with Tony in that im unsure the cable is produced anymore, seen loads on machinery but not any new.

Certainly not a method of glanding a typical SWA cable i would use!!...

I've seen them glanded using a stuffing gland and the armour was earthed with a Tenby clip on the inside of the panel.

Yes the old armour flex you can still get but special order I think and isn't cheap I think most people wouldn't even use the sheething and just use a compression gland but not great
