As title says really?

Heard people say use in some form of piping to make life easier in future should you need to replace/pull in new cable
Others say bury direct?

What's your views

Cheers

eithewr way is acceptable with SWA. only reason to tube it is, as you say, to make it easy to replace

my problem is if water gets in it will stay in and if damaged water will destroy the steel armourings though If they are wanted or ther I would use them .

We use polyethelene irrigation pipe as ducting. It comes as 100 meter rolls and it's easy to work with and easy to pull SWA cabling through. It also helps stop the porcupines digging up the cable and destroying it.

We dont have to much trouble with porcupines!!!

imo, if damaged the armour will corrode whether or not immersed in water. also a lot of ducting now has very small drainage holes along its length.

Also for the reason of armour corrosion, if at all possible, i wont use armour as CPC.
