hi i have just been asked by my brother in law to put cu in shed, i will be runing 15 meters of 6mm swafrom a 40a stype rcbo to a 63a rcd cu he wants a 6a for lights and 20a for sockets and he wants a seperate 32a for a 30a lathe will 6mm swa be ok to use

i would be inclined to use 10mm xlpe SWA to give that bit extra load capability, fed from a 63A OCD. he may want to install another machine at some time in the future , and maybe some form of heating.

I have a similar problem. I am looking to have power supplied to my new garden shed. I will running lighting for shed, a freezer, mains power led garden lighting, and a water pump for 2 x 1000 ltr water tanks (collected rain water). In addituion in the future I may want to add a hot tub suppy.

Will I need to run 3 or 4 core cable from the house 25m away what if anything else will I need please??

Don't forget that Hot Tubs are power hungry, small units normally have 3KW heating and anything from 2 2.5hp motors to 5 of them. The bigger units can often require 3 X 16/20A supply, but can generally be converted to single phase, albeit a hefty one...lolAs a rule of thumb allow provision for at least a good 20A supply....
