Hi All,

We had our recent MCS assessment and got a few non-coms for lack of the appropriate documents/current versions despite using most of them for the last three years.

Was wondering if anyone would like to offload any of the following to partially recoup your investment in them? PM me if interested...

G83/2
G59
EN ISO 14713
EN ISO 1008-1

Might be a good way of pooling resources in future since pdf's can be easily shared and IMO there's little point in actually owning them since the DNO gives its own guidence.

I would have shared it as people have been kind to me here and sent me expensive Pdf books, but i only have G83-1 im afraid!
I assume this is the Niceic?

Im thinking i may keep my MCS with Napit and NICEIC approved contractor separate for these reasons.

That'll be ours then had him for the last 3 years, and he has always wanted to see them :), even wanted to see the TUV certificates for the mounting systems we've used. (he got that from para 4.6 of the MIS 3002 ..)

Re G83/2 - that doesn't come into force until March 2014 so you shouldn't need to have that yet...

Here's the list of what you could be asked for according to MIS 3002 Issue 3.1 (the latest):

To be completely up to date you also need the revised BS7671 Amendment #1 issued in June and #2 issued 1st August this year.

These are both free downloads from the IET website, you just need to register.

What was a bit irritating was that Napit had not provided a list beforehand of what you had to hold against what you had to know how to access if you needed it.

I know we've asked them for that time and time again as we've been adding new technologies. Really frustrating..

Having had more than a few audits now, it seems that the inspectors questions are randomly generated against the standards, by some computer system, so they don't actually get to choose how or which question to ask.

I have, ahem, acquired copies of G59/2 2010 and G83/1-1 2008 if you want one let me know your email address.

I also have both the ENA guides to G83 & G59 which were previously accepted by our other executioner er examiner and may still be by others elsewhere.

Anyone willing to contribute EN ISO 14713 or EN ISO 1008-1 or G83/2?

I promised to have a dig through my stuff. I found a pdf file entitled:

**********************

INTERNATIONAL STANDARD
ISO 14713-2
First edition
2009-12-15

Zinc coatings — Guidelines and recommendations for the protection against corrosion of iron and steel in structures

**********************

It's way beyond me but if anyone wants a copy, send me an PM or email ([email protected]). I doubt it's urgent so I'll deal with all requests at the end of next week.

Philip
