New to the forum hope you all can help,i have a swimspa to install requiring 72amps. fuse board says max 100 amps will the remaining 28amps be enough for the rest of the house appliances ? house being 3 bed semi many thanks colingm

Colin, I've checked my crystal ball but it's asking for information on existing loads such as electric heating, showers, cookers etc.

Also, is the 72A including thermostatic water heating which can have some logical diversity applied?

Even without IQ's crystal ball, I'd say it's unlikely. That's a huge requirement!. Looks like you may be grabbing another phase off the DNO for that.

Thanks for replies, its a hydropool aquatrainer that requires 72amps and it runs on DC not Ac it has 1 dual speed 4hp pump, 2 single speed 5hp pumps, 5.5kw electric heater when full holds 6,500 litres of water.

Is the heater DC as well? Or could you use a genny for the pumps when required and use AC from the mains for heater. Assuming the calcs say you existing supply would be overloaded.

Very much like cooker loads, there are some functions that you can't utilise at the same time, so not all of the pumps will be working at any one time. We have quite a few of these Spa/hot tubs over here, most owners have gone for the heat exchanger system, rather than those crazy KW ratings of the offered heaters (electricity is expensive here). So most here, are heated via the homeowners own central heating system.

The owners here don't normally need the water heated in the summer months. The sun is more than capable of heating the water to more than decent temperatures. Hell my 9m x 4m pool with a 2m depth at the deep end gets upto in excess of 28c in July!!! ...lol!!!
