Hi

wiring a pool. In zone 1 we have wired cat6 to switches, 230v to light positions (class II, IP65 fittings), back to control panel outside zones where I am putting in a 230 - 12v transformer, Relay with 12v coil & 230v terminals, 12v switch switches relay, 230v lights come on.

So far so simple, client now wants lights switched form a second position. Dont do much 12v wiring hence this, probably stupid question', dont know how it differs if any from 230v, is it just the same 2 way switching as any hall (eg) setup ie pass wires? or is there another bit of kit I need to get.

TIA

Iain

Only thing that hasn't been mentioned is volts drop ..... if the second switch is some distance then you may have issues pulling the relay in. Volts drop calcs are the same as with normal 230v supply just check the relay for minimum voltage operation if you can.

12v relay will normally pull in at 9v, wiring to latch the relay will require two switches one to engergised one to break the latch...???? more cable more switches, not realy practical for a simple switch job..!!
