What does the "r", "x" & "z" mean on the mV/A/m columns from 25mm SWA downwards. I can't locate it in the regs anywhere.

Impedance. With the bigger cables it's no longer just resistance, but impedane

Remember the impedance triangle from your studies? Z = the square root of r squared.... Etc etc. You'll not find that equation in the regs.

Thanks to all the replies and the associated link I can kick on from here. I did know the volt drop formula as I do it quite a lot but not above 16mm for some time now. As I'm now the wrong side of 50 new information takes just that little bit more time to process up in the grey matter :confused5:
