If tails should be no longer than 3metres long and the cables entering a KMF need to be double insulated,what cable should be used when the distance from meter to consumer unit is 7 metres?
 
Armoured all the way unless you can ensure that the cable is >50mm deep in the wall or otherwise protected against nails, screws and the like. 16mm 3C XLPE is my favourite on a 60A cartridge fuse but you'll have to do your cable and maximum demand calcs first to ensure compliance.
