Have taken the jump from been a caring sharing spark to an electrical mentor!!

yes guys you have probably guessed! i have an apprentice (fresh out of box starting college on Monday)

i must be ducking mad! lol.........

been working with me for last 3 months on other projects and is learning very quickly!

THIS SHOULD BE FUN!!!!

Durham - would love to know how you find it, and what the actual 'admin' side of life is, as I've been thinking about doing the same.

well the admin side is very small....!! add additional worker to insurance, buy some ppe, and pay him. college takes care of the rest!

i even got one of them CK tool kits for him at only ÂŁ147..... well its for me he can have scabby tools!

I thought you had to do all the learning agreements, H&S vetting etc etc??
 
Isn't there also some government scheme where they pretty much pay YOU for taking in apprentices, or have I got that wrong?
 
Hopefully in a couple of years he’ll become an asset to you. The more they learn the more you can leave them to get on with a job on their own. And believe me it’s surprising what you’ll have to learn, the number of times I’ve been asked questions I’ve had to wrack my brains over. It’ll keep you on your toes! Good on you for taking the jump.
