Hi, I've been a sole trader for abou 4 years now doing mainly domestic and small agricultural works, got quite a nice customer base but another typ of work as come along, I wire and install shop display cabinets for a company a lot of the work is nights good money and can't turn it down.
what I'm thinking abou doing is to take on or sub the contracting work out to some one, has anyone any thoughts abou what's the best thing to do?

well if you can trust someone too sub too then go for it, make a buc for sitting on forum or tain your guy up and then let him to it.. either way you win, not the worker lol

PAYE is a nightmare.

I employ people, they earn more than me and its more secure.

If possible go the reliable subcontractor route, I have a few REGULAR subbies that do for example every Monday.

The extra tax, NI employers liability, public liability, van and costs, tools, wear and tear to tools etc, fleet insurance....OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DEF try sub contractor route first!!!
