Hope everyone is good...Just got back from seeing a client where i have got the job of running a new circuit for some garden power and wall lights....just asked if she had any other quotes and was told that another sparky who is NICEIC had quoted as well but was ÂŁ150 more for labour, fair enough but he also quoted ÂŁ400 for NOTIFYING Building Control...WTF

why do you charge ÂŁ45 for LABC? I think your taking the P
not really ,when you take the consideration of the scams charge do you think it was done for free ,thank about it ,you spend more time doing paper work and extra pc ,paper work hour spent doing the scams LBC ,and all the carp that goes with it .

ÂŁ400 just to notify on top of the price for the job...one circuit...is out of order
did you see the quote ?

I have never even thought of charging separately for notification.
you better start getting on the band wagon then .

Yes......My quote was ÂŁ600 Labour and to notify building control his was ÂŁ750 + vat for Labour plus ÂŁ400 to notify building control

One circuit.....one hour to test and notify.....click click click done

I'll just keep it included in my quotes. It's not like I'm offering it as optional so no reason to quote it separately.
To me that is how it should be done.

It is a bit like non-business customers have to be given prices including VAT as they have no opportunity to reclaim it. I fully agree that your quoted price has to cover that work, but trying to split out mandatory work as an "option" is very much the Ryanair school of customer-screwing.

Agree. Client. ''I don't want to pay ÂŁ400 so don't notify it''.

Are you sure the fella's NIC or just coming it? He might have to pay for a private notification.

not really, all certs done onsite. Takes 2 mins if that to notify. I think your ÂŁ45 is not right, but its your business good luck to you for getting it.
