Hi, its my first post, looks like an amazing forum.

I have a virgin Tivo box. Usual issue with messy install and I do not like the virgin face plate that covers the splitter etc. I have installed a 37mm deep 2gang metal box into the wall along side another for a double electrical sock. Iv located the metal box exactly where I have my virgin cable entering the property along with a twin sky plus hd cable. I am putting in a modular system so that the cables are custom lengths perfect for the installation. I have also chased in hdmi cables so they are in the metal box also. My main issue now is where to put the splitter and the fully isolated system outlet. Its to much of a squeeze to put the two inside the metal box.

Can these components be position outside the property?
How can i house or weather protect them if so?
I have temporary access to the wall cavity, would it be a problem locating them in there?

To give an over all picture. The main virgin installed panel is on the front of my property, the cable from it on the exterior runs approximately 1 meter, enters through a cavity wall to the fully isolated system outlet, 15cm length of cable to splitter and then 1.5m of cable coiled up to attach to tivo box. Tivo box is only 20cm from where cable enters the property.

There may be more to add, but your assistant in this would be much appreciated. Thank you
