hi everyone I'm new to this forum and just wondered if anybody could point me in the right direction to becoming a qualified technician, I'm a recently qualified spark and have my 2330 L2 + L3, nvq L3 and my AM2 and was just wondering if i could go onto a technicians course with these qualifications (2360 course i believe) or would i need to do my 2391 as well to get onto a course? any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Josh

Well first of all you need to become an approved electrician. So 2391, along with 2330 l3 and NVQ3. You need 2yrs exp since qualifying as a spark.

To get graded as a technician you need to do either 2391-2 or another course that includes LV design. Maybe a HNC or an appropriate module from it? I think you also need 5yrs exp since qualifying and also a detailed reference from your employer about jobs you have run ect. Ive met a few JIB technicians, but not one of them was employed as one.

The 2391-20 design, erection & verification is the modern equivalent of the old 2360 C course and will get you technician status with the JIB.

You would also need the 2391-10 inspection & testing for technician grading.
