Doing a job the other day, and spiltmy bits and bobs box all over the Garage floor, oh bum, knelt down to pick it all up and knelt on a screw, painful then and even more so today, anyone else done anything stupid and hurt themselves?

done this too whilst coming out of a loft, screwdriver in my pocket, sharp end upwards, right into my stomach

I did the stab in leg but was a screwdriver in a pouch on the old snickers wooley tops, jumped from back of a house before steps were built, down about three feet onto ground and the screwdriver in the pouch cans through the pouch and stabbed me in the leg lol

Worst one was jumping across the services ditch around edge of site, missed kerb, concrete broke away, hit shin off kerb, grazed inside of arm on only bit of rebar left behind from the strings.

Didn’t think anything on it.

Then 3 weeks later woke up in agony, had blood poisoning and the bruise on my shin had clotted and had to get it cut out.

Both done as a 3rd year aprentice too.

I recall being about 8 or 9, visiting local swimming baths. Back then H&S wasn't talked of. They divided lanes up with bits of string & countersunk screws fixed around the side of the pool, unscrewing screws when the school kids visited. Except they left one screw in when I visited. Not seeing said screw, I kicked it with my foot, leaving a rather large laceration in the sole of my foot.

My Mum, God bless her, sort compensation and I got ÂŁ75 ;)

Nothing too serious for me apart from usual screwdrivers into hand, knife blade cuts and hammer thumped thumbs.
One time, while dismantling a tower scaffold, a loose pole managed to smack me in the face.
I never knew my nose held so much blood.

Both shins climbing on an armoured vehicle when I was in a green skin. What made it worse was it was cold, I couldn’t even breathe properly for five minutes. Still got the scars.

just remembered one of my shin related ones lol, we were towing a trailer with the van, stopped at wholesalers and i went into the backdoor of the van with my foot between the door and the frame of the trailer i slammed the door shut on my own leg

Ha, funny topic for me today as my very modest weight (hmmm) broke the ladder, when I fell on it this morning. A few choice phrases of Ancient Greek were spoken.

I fell out of a loft hatch around 10 years ago, completely missed the ladder and my arms were pulled up as I went through, think that's what's given me sore shoulders to this day. But the best bit was I sort of landed on the customer below and wrecked his best glasses. Been back to that place many times and we laugh about it now. :)
