Hi all

I'm wanting to the right course for test and inspect, want to sign off my own work instead of paying a friend to do it all the time. Thing is there is that many different ones out there I'm not sure which is right one. I want to sign off everything from a new skt to a whole factory. Please someone tell me which one I need to do

Thanks

Jim

yes I am and have been for 14 years thanks and done more installs on more sites than most even full factory refurbishments, I've never thought about it before. I was told this for someone how has just joined with niceic, if you cant e helpful don't say anything

your answer contradicts its self anyway

You don't need any qualifications to fill out a EIC, MWC or EICR just be able to prove you are competant to it. One way to do this would be do the 2394 and 2395 courses and exams

be a competent person but pass exams makes you qualified not competent

That's quite true but the exams are there to ensure you have sufficient knowledge. After the exam you are deemed competent but there are different levels of being compent.

In regards to your op the best best as dillb says is 2394+2395 course. Some providers offer it as a combined course ie 1course but you get two certificates. Cost is around ÂŁ1000+vat.

holding relevent certificates would be one way of demonstrating competency....in my book though you would still have to demonstrate competency through practical means....

in other words by actually carrying out a range of testing procedures in a proper working environment....rather than under scrutiny in some chuffin booth someware...

see where this is going?...

The NIC like a QS to sign off test sheets and to be registered for the QS role you will need the course which has "im told" got much easier however more expensive. Its in 2 parts dom and com.
I completed the 2391 course to sign off jobs, well worth it. I guess now they are the 2394 and 2395 courses. College will point you in the right direction.
