Hi guys, when doing private work what test sheets do you issue, the ones in the back of the regs, your own ones or....??? Just wondering as have some private work coming up, going to notify building control, would like everything in place for when he come to make life a lot easier. Cheers

Many thanks, also when I do work and issue and eic the "reviewed by qulified supervisor" is that signed of by building controll, or do I sign even tho I haven't a 2391?

You dontneed the 2391 if you have passed the 17th that is sufficient for you to sign as qualified supervisor.

No worries mate but get yourself onto a competent person scheme as soon as you can. Im with the NICEIC I pay in total ÂŁ3.00 per job building control you are looking at around the ÂŁ150 mark. So three notifiable jobs and you have paid your subscription

Good luck

Yer that is what I am aiming for, but all c-p-s want evidance of preivious works
so I thought while I'm still with a company build up that evidance, end of the year I hope to be fully up and running! I can't wait!! :)

Whichever scheme you go for if its domestic only you need 2 jobs one notifiable and one not notifiable. Its best to do the notifiable one in your own property if you can and both have to be within the last 12 months.

If you are going contractor status then its 5 jobs across the spectrum. Nothing stopping you getting your accreditation while still working but make sure you are not in breach of your employment contract as you dont want to be sacked or forced to leave before you are ready to go it alone.

Try and get a small business advisory course as well they are free and cover everything you need to know about tax, marketing, sole trader etc etc. Lloyds bank also do an excellent business plan CD if you cant get one of them try and download it from sage direct.

You would have thought they'd have a switch to flick on and off to engage an override. Not on each PIR but an actual light switch
