The best MFT for you would depend on what you need from your tester, what type of work you predominantly do, whether you're looking for a new or secondhand tester and obviously how much you've got to spend.

If you buy 2nd hand make sure it comes with a current calibration certificate or that's another ÂŁ75.00 you'll need to find.

Forum Sponsor "Test Meter" are a good place to start and they give an extra 5% too!

And welcome to the forum.

Im looking for a new MFT that will perform all tests up to RCD but it dosent have to have earth electrode function. I don't want to spend too much at the moment but i will pay enough for a mid range tester that will perform the tasks well. I'm looking to start up by myself so want to not spend massive on a tester and then if things work out ill upgrade to a tester thats higher in the market

Buy once, buy wisely!

yes, see what you can get at a good price.

a mate got a bargin on a fluke online from a guy that was selling off all his tools.

fluke is just as good as megger

none of them are accurate but then you wouldn't be looking at an mft if you did.

fluke do very good warranty's etc, fluke or megger are the brands most electricians use
