Hi, Ive just had my fluke multifunction tester calibrated. If I carry out monthly tests on it using a check box etc, and I keep proper records of the results, if everything is ok and no readings wander, when would i need to have my tester calibrated again? I only use the tester a couple of times a week, so it has only light use. cheers.

I remember reading something on this a while back, isn't the NICEIC stating that if you do a monthly check with calibration boxes, dedicated sockets etc, and keep the log book updated, you only need to send it for calibration if it wanders. I'm sure someone on the NICEIC scheme will put me right.

If the above is the case then ,I suppose a call to your scheme would be the best way to go, after all if your with a part P provider scheme when you come up for the re-assement and you have done above they may not accept that.

So long as you do regular checks on your instrument then you only need to send for calibration if the readings wander. We had a NICEIC assessment last week and they were happy even though 2 of our meters are over 4 years old and have never been recalibrated. As said check with your scheme provider as to their requirements.

The 1552, which I also own, does not predate GS38. You have nothing to worry about.
