Hello All

I looking for a (pen type?) of tester to find true live in a lighting circuit etc., any thoughts would be appreciated.

I believe they do exist but I cannot trace one (sorry of the pun)

Many thanks and enjoy the summer...

The pen type testers can't be used to prove a conductor is dead or live. They just give a rough indication, they should never be used to prove a circuit is safe to work on.

The site sponsor 'Test Meter' will be able to help you. And give you a discount.

PS, and what Rob said.
You need the correct voltage tester for proving circuits live or dead, in the proper sequence.

a multimeter can find the switch line ( dead test ) and an approved voltage tester to determine which is feed in and which is out.
