Hi If I were to spur off a ring main to a fcu that will feed an outside light. What would be the test procedure I would carry out. Obviously a continuity of ring would not test upto the light so how would this be done
 
your r1 + r2 ( end/end) would not be affected by the addition. you would get a very small increase in your R1+R2 at the FCU ( depending on the length of the cable between the socket and FCU). the cable from the FCU to the light is irrelevant as it's not part of the fixed wiring. you take you readings at the FCU ( including Zs)
