Hello all Help please!!!!!!!!

Yesterday I went to a property that has had an new extension built, I had to connect some appliances induction hob (no seperate supply), cooker isolators behind induction hob and sockets 75mm from edge of the sink.

I informed the customer that I could not do it and would need to speak to the builder, the builder said meet the electrician this morning, I turned up but he didn't but the builder did. I told the builder that I need to see the selection of test results required by bs7671 also have building control been notified he didnt have a clue what I was talking about.

The customer has since said can I complete and make safe the electrics, my questions is how can I test someone elses work, on the nic form it states that I have designed, construted, tested and inspected but would not have met all these critereras. The builder said that he can get someone to certify the work!! Is this possible? Would this be a periodic inspection report?

Limit the bit to Inspected only dont say you designed or constructed it.There are 4 different columbs to sighn And note on the sheet what happened.

Just do whatever needs doing and certify that.

In the box titled 'extent of installation work covered by this certificate' write what you have done and what you are certifying.

And in the box titled 'comments on existing installation' write anything you have noted.
