Hi all

just after some guidance on tetsing supp bonding, just want to make sure I am doing the right tests when carrying out condition reports.

I always check to see if i can see if it is present, then if it is not visually present and all circuits are not rcd protected in the bathroom then i will do the resistance calc 50V / Ia

so for example i use the highest rated mcb, usually shower circuit and do the calc, so say for a 40A mcb = 50 / 200 = 0.25 ohms, i then test between all exposed and extraneous conductive parts making sure the reading is less than 0.25 ohms, if not then i code 2 it.

My other question is, if say the shower was rcd protected but the lights were not, would you use the lighting mcb for the calculation and ignore the shower, or still go worst case scenario and use the shower mcb.

Am i doing the right things or am i missing something, sorry if this is basic stuff to some, but the reason i ask as i have just started working with a new guy and he hs been putting doubts in my head, just want to make sure i am doing everything correct.

If anyone has any other methods or anything, i am always welcome to advice, always looking to learn and improve.

Thanks guys

make life easy for yourself and ditch all these calcs for an eicr , they're not necessary.
if you cant see any sign of sup bonding its prob not there so just code it.
