hi, do i have to do all the electrical tests even if i am only replacing a light switch?

Not really, although you should do the usual checks eg cpc present etc.

You are required to carry out insulation resistance and loop tests even though you do not need to make a note of the results unless a problem is found.

Even changing a light fitting places a a duty of care on you to ensure that the fitting was safe when you left the premises - but there may be room for taking a pragmatic approach, real world vs. theoretical world
