I'd just like to say as someone who has criticised in the past some of the wholesalers, that I've had great service in the main from some very stressed wholesalers. We've got 14 installs before the deadline and have been able to secure all but 3 inverters. Stock is so far being delivered as promised and we're maintaining a dialogue about how things are progressing.

Maybe I'm lucky because we order all of our stock as soon as we have an order so a lot was already in the system but I feel I have to redress the balance a bit after bitching last week about them.

Yes, I know they're out there to make money - aren't we all?

Well said, yes ive also 12 to do before the deadline, and ive got stock allocated, so all is not bad, it pays to use a regular supplier as you never know how much your going to need them.

Two of the four we have been dealing with wont be seeing our business again.

One claimed they couldn't supply us two pallets of bosch modules that we have been buying from them every week for months while a different rep at the same company managed to get some for a friend of mine that had never bought from them before:66:

But the best one was our inverter suppliers.

Following our regular order for 12 power ones last week and before the cut was announced I received an email saying

Many thanks for your continued support with the inverter orders recently, please find attached current PV pricing & terms, we will always beat any price ************** offer.

This weeks order I was told "sorry unless you buy modules you cant have them" they followed that up later saying we could have as many mastervolts as we liked provided we paid well over the odds. On top of that the free delivery now costs ÂŁ150 so
**** em.

They will want our business again when this rush is over, but never again.

There is another wholesaler who sent sent an email suspending trade credit for November on all accounts- everything on a money up front basis! I only deal with them on some specialist stuff.

The big one I deal with, Segen I have moaned about before, but they seem to be pulling out the stops and ramping up activity. I hope it turns into completed deliveries! I do not dare make changes to orders in case I lose the allocation and the computer then says no. By choosing the less popular inverters and more expensive panels I was still able to put a system together at 2am this morning for delivery at the end of the month. I think I'll be knackered by then and so will the wholesalers.

Was at Wholesalers yesterday. As just completed PV training course, so wanted prices etc. He made reference to VAT cut on PV equipment in January?

Also, boat loads of tat en-route from China. Will prices remain high in a flooded market?

It's a nightmare for us and a nightmare for them, imagine wholesalers with a load of stuff on their books they can't shift. in unprecedented demand for them. A nightmare to manage.

The best bet i think is ones with operations in other countries, they can get the stock from them, and any excess can go back after the 12th...

Been lucky so far. Our wholesaler got in some pallets of REC 245s for us a while back and, since we're his only PV customer that fits them, we should have enough to see us through. Still waiting to hear back on a couple of potential orders, but if it looks like we'll have panels left over, I'll let folks know.

Inverters hasn't been too bad - Waiting for a couple of Fronius IG TL 3.6's - one confirmed in stock this morning and on its way out to us. The other due in a couple of weeks - which is when it's needed. The smaller inverters seem to be easy enough to get hold of at the moment.
