SRE

I'd just like to thank everyone for their support and encouragement in these difficult times. Even Powervan winding me up about my missed San Francisco holiday!! It's probably the only thing that has kept me sane over the last fortnight.

I'm also a member of Linked in which is supposed to be a professional network and I joined the solar group on there a while ago. There are a few decent members but to be absolutely honest most are sales and marketing firms and muppets (the two don't appear to be mutually exclusive) and this forum could absolutely wipe the floor with most of the people in the Linked In solar group.

cant wait till all this over the the senior of all senior members the 1 and only worcester renewables comes back on to correct us all on everything! thats if he has survived this madness EVEN he must be getting a iccle stressed!! but then again the BENTLEY in the garage prob helps !! SOL 1 :)

THE WISE ONE!!! got my kits commmmming tomoz:) so got 5 instals left:) fingers crossed! then decide what to do! my prob is lack of structual reports on jobs ive done! need to get an engineer on my side if im gonna carry on !! ive no doubt about roofs weve done but U CANT BEAT A BIT OF PAPER IN A FILE!! (just in case)

I should add thanks as well. SRE is right about linked in. Its full of wannabes. Of all the forums I have ever used, this has to be tops, both technically and also for the way help is given to those with less knowledge in an uncritical and helpful manner. It really sets this place apart.

Markc is right, the help and cooperation is excellent. It shows we have far more in common than separates us. This is what allows everyone to compete in the market place, even with each other.

It is really refreshing to find others who share my passion for best practice.

Post December 12th, I hope we are all still here.

solar king those with less knowledge!! directed at me?:))) lol no serious its great! never known anything like it in 25yrs ive been holding my tool in my hand! oops TOOLS!

LinkedIn is more about professional people themselves, not businesses as such. I'm sure you would get more business exposure if you made a simple website/blog and kept the content current.

I would like to take this opportunity to say thanks also.
Unlike many of you professional (and one or two unprofessional) installers I only sell the systems, I work for a long established PV company, I sell systems in the area I live, so it is paramount to me that every install is first class, and I offer a first class personal service to the customer.
I have learnt so much from reading this forum, some of which I do not need to know, however because I have a passion for this industry, I am keen to learn more.
My belief is there is a future for most of us, we just have to ride out this storm, well I hope so or my house will be for sale.
I am concerned about some of the installs I have read about and seen, and feel the industry needs to inspect installs, so a high standard is maintained.
What would be wrong with MCS or REA carrying out these inspections?
If a system has any faults, then the installer has to put it right, if it is plain dangerous their MCS gets suspended and they have to pay to go on a refresher course.
It would certainly sort the men out from the boys!
If ever I can help on here I try my best, but I leave the very technical to the experts.
Thanks again
