Hi Guys
So I've never installed a hot tub supply before so take it easy on me. I've spent a bit of time researching it myself and its a minefield of conflicting information.
From what i've gathered I need to run from the DB to a rotary isolator. RCD at DB. Connect armouring of swa at DB end but not at isolator. Install earth rod at isolator. Isolator to be at least 2M from hot tub.
I've been to look at the install today and need some advice.
DB is plastic dual RCD (type AC 63A) 100A main switch.
Earthing arrangement is PME.
Hot tub is to be located just next to the conservatory at the back of the house on the patio.
Do I have to change the DB or is it a recommendation that the customer can choose to ignore for now?
Can I just upgrade the RCD's to type A?
Could I split the supply via henley blocks to a stand alone RCD unit and ignore the DB?
Do I need an RCD local to the hot tub?
What cable is used to connect from isolator to hot tub? SWA or H07RN-F flex?
I feel like I'm getting myself at it a little bit so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Tom
