France's main airport has only a few days' worth of jet fuel left, it was announced today, as the strikes against government pension plans continued to disrupt infrastructure.
The transport ministry warned of the fuel shortage at the Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris as hundreds of thousands took part in another national protest against President Nicolas Sarkozy's bill to raise the retirement age.

We never protest about anything in this country.

Re: The French don't FK about.

what do you expect from the nation that chopped the heads of anyone who could read and write, then invented the metric system

We never protest about anything in this country.

We do, but it's always a bunch of crusty hippies sitting down in the middle of London or some such rubbish, being ignored by all and sundry. And the Police, of course, end up murdering somebody who isn't involved in the protest....

They tend to shoot sparks going about their daily buisness in London
Imagine thousands of sparks demionstrating against part pants
They woulkd mow us down no doubt, they have the training centers full ready to replace us

That's the trouble see, there's no solidarity with us, I mean generally with people in this country, we seem to allways bend down and take it up the ***.
At least the French have a go. But it might all be futile. It might end with France's economy suffering severely but on the other hand they might win.
What happened to the Union as far as electricians go, where did it all go wrong for them or are they still alive and kicking?
Cheers.

The French president, Nicolas Sarkozy, faces his toughest test yet this week as strikers ramp up protests against his pension reform by blocking refineries and oil depots and bringing motorways and public transport to a halt.

Drivers fear petrol shortages, road blockages and public transport chaos during the nationwide strike planned for today. Even Marseille's school meals assistants have taken to the streets.

"No one really knows when this will end. This has gone beyond pensions, it's about our unjust, divided society."

That's what I mean.
Is there one?
Was there ever one?
Did one ever exist?

It was the ETU then we let the plumbers in to become the EEPTU then merge with the AEU to become the AEEU the merged with the T & G to become AMICUS thus becoming the minority in the union by doing so letting every Tom, Dick and Harry in sounds just like the country we live in.

The French have the right idea I wish we were the same,I think back 10 years to the fuel protests and wonder what the price would be for a litre if the fuel price escalater was still in place at least ÂŁ1.50 a litre probley more.I had to get sell my two litre petrol Caviler at the time as I couldn't afford to run it.Now I've been unemployed for eight weeks with no sign of a job and I don't think I'll work again this year
