just to brighten up a miserable sunday morning, back when i first qualified.

No digital anything, only 2 types of meter, AVO7 and the one you fed shillings into under the stairs. Robin was a small garden bird, Fluke was something you got right by chance. A Megger was a hand cranked insulation tester and the only type of calculator was a slide rule, commonly known as a slip-stick. If you had an electric iron, it usually came with a bayonet plug and plugged into the nearest light fitting! Kitchens had one single socket outlet. The new 13A sockets were just starting to replace the 15A round pin ones. Ford was celebrating the launch of the Transit 2.0L V4 Petrol. Diesel engines were only found in buses and wagons.
CPC was a small Company in Preston, selling 2nd hand TV valves. Came individually wrapped in newspaper. Calculations on a job consisted only of working out the customer's bill, hand written, of course. I could now say guess the year. Over to you all.

Going by the engine, late 60's.......early 70's......71 perhaps.

The old Essex was good by standards of the day but was only about 48bhp I think.

I've got a BP Electric guide 10th adition ,think it dates back to the 30's , think ill put it with my regs etc when i get my next assesment

Fond memories of Anglesey. Caravan at Rhosneigor ( hope i spelled that right ) right on the approach to RAF Valley main runway. Fighter jets coming over at 200ft. Biggest thrill was a Vulcan bomber taking off. Rattled a few ppl.

My dad bought me mine when I started my final year. and yes I use it still, though not for T&I.
