Although a one day 430 mile round trip, driving through rain, fog and sleet, really liked the look of the place, I may plan a holiday there! One really silly thing on my part, obviously people in Wales speak Welsh, but it was still a suprise when i saw Welsh sign posts!!!!

In case anyone dont know ,its also the largest island in the UK

Ooooh get brainbox over here!

My A level psychology class was taught via webcam link from a guy in Anglesey. We were the first school in the country to do such a thing.

Isn't that Llanfairpwllgwyneddgorgerowyndrobollantisililliogogogoch place on Anglesey?

I used to like Angelsey although it got to be a bit bleak in winter. I worked on the ferries that ran from Hollyhead for a few years in the 80's. Ah the good old days :)

I did a few months at RAF Valley in the eighties. No wish to offend the Welsh or the people who are from Angelsey, but my memories of the place were bloody awful. To be fair though I haven't been back since then, but i know people who have, and like you enjoyed it.
The one thing i did learn whilst i was there was how to say "Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwrndrobwllllantisiliogogogoch" Dont know if i have spelt it right, but i bought a postcard with it written on, and learn't from that:D

Cheers............Howard

they have a hyfro electric power station in llanberis and a nuclear power station on the island. I have alot of friends who live on the island its a reli nice place but if you have a dog dont take them cos the place is riddled with fleas....

lololol how cool place is riddled with fleas , you classing me as a flea i know im not to tall but lol, roukel you should have given us a call lol kettles always on lol , if im working near vally youll find me in the carpark by the airfield panad and lunch , another haunt is menai bridge layby looking over the suspension bridge panad and lunch , the most photographed bridge in the uk !!! at least 10 time every time i go there , and if you went to tesco's near Bangor the bill smiths motorbikes best bacon bap ever , weve a copper mine too on paris mountain and the home of anglesey sea salt as alot of top chefs now use it and weve not had snow realy just a flurry

Seeing sign posts there is pretty impressive. Half of the smaller towns don't seem to bother with street signs as everyone local knows where they are.
