The length of a female minute

Do women have a different size of minute? I ask because if my wife says "I'll only be a minute" I know she will be at least half an hour. When I get commanded to carry out a job, and I know it will take a couple of hours, her estimate is "It'll only take a few minutes". Can any one explain?

I think the disconnect has occurred because we are quite literal. Normal folks may say "in a minute", but we need to remember they are not saying which minute specifically. Hope that helps

I can't understand it either, one time it' half an hour and the next it' only 10 seconds. You just can't win

This quandary,is no more troublesome,than when we men,promise our better halves,to "Do that job,at the weekend..."

Our patient partners,only bring the subject up,a year later,when it still needs doing...

Thats what you think you'll tell here but to be honest like most of the men on here you'd be far too scared to mutter a word, to wind here up come back from a night out with your socks inside out and pants back to front...........
