Hi i am a trainee at college and always here this can any one clarify do we have to put capping over cables or not, does it state in the regs that we have to

No requirement, unless being rendered over (as cement degrades PVC). That said, I always use oval conduit, no excuses.

I believe that it's not a regulation to put capping in as it is only there to protect from the plasterer/butchers trowel. Put two 20mm conduits in a wall last week with crampets and god it was hard work!

recently been introduced to galv band to hold cables in position, my new Favorite way of doing it without capping.

There is absolutely no advantage to using banding, no it's no in the regs to use capping but its good practice

OOooo yes let's. It's ages since we had a pointless debate on that topic. I think it should be punishable by execution to not think that it isn't ok to not reckon that crimping solid cores could possibly not be ok to not like
